The Crystal Guardian

Dominik was born and raised in Berlin, Germany.
He showed an interest in nature and the workings of ecosystems at a young age.
At age 17, Dominik became aware of and studied ancient wisdom and indigenous teachings as well as different spiritual philosophies, which led him to a drastic lifestyle change. Seeking a closer connection to earth and the foods we eat, Dominik started an organic gardening project in his parent’s backyard.
Followed by several years of travel in Hawai’i, New Zealand and Europe to work on organic farms, his passion for alternative living and regenerative farming grew. One of his inspirations was his grandmother, who passionately tended her gardens until old age.

In 2007, Dominik attended college for a Bachelor in Organic Farming and Marketing, but he realized that he wanted to work in a more practical way. And when the opportunity presented itself to start a homesteading and farming project in Arkansas, he decided to move to the US in order to pursue organic farming as a full-time lifestyle. 

Along the way of personal growth and spiritual study, he nurtured a steady interest in plants, crystals, and the healing arts.

Living in the Ouachita Mountains, digging for crystals became his favorite hobby and quickly turned into a main part of his life. His passion for rockhounding culminated in 2017 when he launched the YouTube channel “Crystals of Arkansas” to inspire others and educate about mining for clear quartz in the area. He is honored to be a representative of the local mining community and to share the uncovering of these stones with everyone.

In 2021, Dominik became the steward of a beautiful piece of land near Mount Ida, along the crystal-loop scenic road. The Crystal Garden Gift Shop was opened in March of 2023. The land will be developed into a permaculture farm, nature sanctuary and community events center.
